What's inside the PAINT ZERO pack?
PAINT ZERO packs contain a unique and patent-pending water-mixable decorating paint powder. PAINT ZERO decorating paint powder is made from 100% sustainable plant extracts, natural minerals and salts, with non-toxic colouring pigments.
Each pack makes one of the beautiful paint colours in our range. However, when you open the pack the dry powder inside is always white or off white. The PAINT ZERO decorating paint colour appears as soon as you add warm water; then develops fully during the mixing and cooling period, just before you start painting.PAINT ZERO packaging is resealable, recyclable and biodegradable. The pouch has a vegetable plastic lining to keep PAINT ZERO dry, and any moisture out, for up to 5 years.
Do I have to mix a whole pack of PAINT ZERO at once?
No, absolutely not. For example:
A whole 750gm pack will make 2.5 litres of PAINT ZERO when mixed with 2 litres of warm water,Half a pack (350-360gm) makes 1.25 litres with 1 litre water, and so on, down to 70gm with 200ml, for ¼ of a litre, about one mugful.
How do I use PAINT ZERO?
What preparation is needed before applying PAINT ZERO to my walls /ceiling?
As with all quality paints, PAINT ZERO works best on clean, dry, smooth surfaces.First brush off any dust, then wipe surfaces clean with dilute detergent and fill any holes or cracks.
If painting over water-resistant or vinyl wallcoverings, sand the surface lightly before cleaning. Is mixing PAINT ZERO difficult?
You will find clear instructions on the back of every pack. On this site there is a step-by-step guide and an example video. You simply need: a clean bowl or bucket, a hand or electric mixer, and some warm tap water. In just a few minutes, you have rich creamy paint.Does PAINT ZERO need special paint brushes or rollers?
No. We recommend synthetic bristle brushes and short pile paint rollers from a reputable manufacturer. How long does PAINT ZERO take to dry?
Depending on the weather, 2-4 hours. And, if needed, a second coat can be applied after 4 hours.Like other premium paints, avoid spills and splashes and wash stained items as soon as possible.
As a non-toxic product, repainted rooms can be reused as soon as dry; then PAINT ZERO naturally develops its long-lasting durability over 10-14 days. What do I do with any waste or leftovers?
PAINT ZERO is non-hazardous and has been developed to minimise pollution. Reseal any dry powder in its pack and keep for up to 5 years. Any wet PAINT ZERO will biodegrade with garden waste. If you don't have a compost heap, scrape leftover paint from brushes or rollers onto absorbent material, such as cooking flour or absorbent pet litter, wrap it in newspaper and dispose of with household waste (please check with your Local Authority regulations). Can I use PAINT ZERO to paint other items?
There are a whole range of paint effects you can achieve with PAINT ZERO. These will be featured in our regular mailings. For example, PAINT ZERO is great for stenciling, wall murals as well as painting plain wooden furniture.Ensure your furniture has been prepped as usual for any wooden painting project and lightly sand between coats. Then, once fully dry, we recommend finishing with a clear wax to seal in the colour and ensure longevity.
